  • Vantec Nexus Fan Controller Review @ Techware Labs

Published: Monday, April 7, 2003 | By: Dennis

Backlit with an Alu finish, not bad. happy smile
"The Nexus Fan Controller is a must-have for anyone looking to regulate fan speed & noise inside their computer case. Vantec has a provided an easy solution to the problem of building one's own, or installing half-built rheobuses in existing bay covers and taking a chance of screwing up."

  • Zalman 7000Cu Review @ Digital-Daily

Published: Monday, April 7, 2003 | By: Dennis

This heatsink is what happens when you mix an all copper "ORB" with a 80mm fan. This is a cool looking heatsink but has a very strange attachment method.
"Besides, the user manual has some announcements that Zalman shall bear no responsibility for any damage incurred with overclocking or inadequate cooler installation. Besides, the user is warned that the cooler mass is 773 g, which exceeds the admissible mass for Socket 478 (as per Intel, it is 450 g). "
Oh and its heavy too. sad smile

  • XDream SE HSC-V83 Review @ Furioustech

Published: Monday, April 7, 2003 | By: Dennis

"I think Cooler Master has a great product here. I would have given it an excellent, except for the base and the thumb clip. You can see with a smaller CFM fan this cooler holds its own against the SK-7. I hope Cooler Master will address the lapping of the base I would like to see a flatter and finer base."
They pretty much cover everything there is to know about the XDreamSE.

  • AOpen AK79G Max Review @ Bjorn3D

Published: Monday, April 7, 2003 | By: Dennis

"When you take a look at all the features included with the AK79G Max, you definitely start to understand the "Max" designation. With Serial ATA, FireWire, USB 2.0, WinBIOS (change BIOS within Windows), EzClock (overclock from within
Windows) and many other great features, the AK79G Max is without a doubt one of the most feature-rich nForce2 solutions around. Add this to the fact that it's a rock solid nForce2 board, and you've got yourself an excellent product."

But will it do 200Mhz FSB?? that is what we want to know, well at least I do. big grin smile

  • Monsoon MH-505 vs. Altec Lansing 5100 @ Unique Hardware

Published: Monday, April 7, 2003 | By: Dennis

"Now don't get me wrong... These speakers look amazing! Seriously. As you can see in the thumbnails on the left *Plush Collectible Jumanji Animals not included* they look very nice."
They aren't that special. tongue smile

  • CeBit 2003 Coverage @ NordicHardware

Lots of good stuff in this part 2 writeup including many motherboards and cooling equipment. This article is a little later than most to be posted but the info and pictures are still fun to look at.

  • Thermaltake Volcano 11 Review @ TweakTown

Published: Friday, April 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

"While the newest Volcano model hasn't beaten out all contenders, it does a very good job of holding its own. With results that are just a shade warmer than the Cooler Master X-Dream SE cooler, it makes a fair standing for itself. Also remember that I have used a Palomino processor for these tests since they tend to get hotter than the newer Thoroughbreds with their lower voltage requirements."
It even looks like an x-Dream. big grin smile

  • TT-300ss Silent PSU Review @ The Tech Lounge

Published: Friday, April 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

"This power supply is extremely quiet even with two fans. It is a generally solid performer, although it is merely average in most other places such as the quality of work, and features."
The RMS voltage scores look pretty impressive as well.

Don't mind the deja vu it's just a glitch in the Matrix. tongue smile

  • Kingwin KWI-450 Review @ Techware Labs

Published: Friday, April 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

Techware Labs is reviewing a new 450watt powersupply.
"As discussed earlier, the KWI-450 features three fans: two intake fans mounted inside the case, and one exhaust fan. While an intake fan is being seen more commonly on third-party power supplies than earlier models, virtually no stock power supplies feature a single intake fan--muchless two."
Case temps are a little lower over a "stock" PSU though the thing I'd look at is RMS voltage.

  • Bubble Light Review @ Modfathers

Published: Friday, April 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

The modding offer you cannot refuse. tongue smile
"To start with, I have a confession to make. I love lighting. On my open test bed I have two LED cluster spots, 3 cold cathodes and a cold cathode fan. Naturally there is always a bit of room for more, however I now am only on the lookout for something just that bit different."
It's just a onepage so don't be scared.
